Is Latisse Right for You?

Scottsdale LatisseMany women were not born with the lashes they want. As we age, the lashes that we do have, become lighter, thinner, and shorter.

You don’t have to live with your skimpy lashes, or keep trying one mascara after another with disappointing results. Scottsdale Latisse, a treatment approved by the Food and Drug Administration, is a safe and effective way to make your lashes substantially fuller. In some cases, they’ll also become longer and darker.

How Scottsdale Latisse works

Latisse was developed using the active ingredient from a prescription eye drop used to treat glaucoma. Patients taking this medication noticed that their eyelashes were becoming thick and long. It was later adapted into a product for that specific purpose.

It’s believed to work by increasing the length of the growth phase of your lashes. Latisse is also thought to increase the number of lashes that are in this growth phase.

Some patients have also had success using very small amounts of the product on their eyebrows to make them thicker.

Seeing results

Latisse is applied once a day along your upper lash line using small brushes that are included. You may start to see results after about four weeks, but you won’t see full results until around 16 weeks.

You’ll need to keep using Latisse to maintain your results. If you stop completely, your lashes will go back to the way they were before treatment.

Safe for almost everyone

Latisse is safe for most people with healthy eyes. It’s not recommended if you have a sensitivity to its active ingredient (bimatoprost). You can use Latisse if you wear contact lenses, and you can continue to use mascara if you’d like to. If you have a history of glaucoma, you’ll need to be monitored more closely by your ophthalmologist.
