Laser Treatments at North Scottsdale Laser & Skin Care Clinic

  • Who would benefit from laser treatments? Photo Facials are for medium to fare skin types. Fitzpatrick skin types 1-3 are our best candidates. Lighter and medium skin tones qualify best, as the machine can really pick up on the pigment and has a harder time picking up darker skin tones. Therefore, if you have light skin, a photo facial may be just the thing for you!
  • What is your favorite laser treatment? Photo Facials are my favorite because it really makes the skin glow! This treatment will take some of the brown pigment out of the skin, which leaves you with a more even skin tone. Photo Facials also target vascularity (red pigments), which also makes skin tone appear more even.
  • How long do laser treatments typically take? Is there anything a client must do before the treatment? A Photo Facial on the face typically takes 20 minutes. Photo Facials on the body take longer depending on the area. Clients typically treat lower legs or shoulders, which can take up to 45 minutes. One week prior to treatment, clients must stop retinol, antibiotics, and spray tans. The client also cannot be tanned or sun burnt.
  • What maintenance is needed for laser treatments? Most of our clients typically do a series of three to five treatments because Photo Facials shock the pigment in all five layers of the skin. Some pigment is superficial and pulls up and off within a single treatment, but some pigment rests in the bottom layer and gets lifted up half way. For optimal results, we recommend doing a Photo Facial three to five times per month.
  • What other skin care treatments work well with laser treatments? I always love the combination of a Dermaplane facial two weeks after Photo Facials. This is awesome for taking off any pigment that hasn’t come off naturally. Some pigment lifts and sits on the top layer longer then usual and can taken off with Dermaplaning.
