Medical-Grade Chemical Peels

North Scottsdale Laser & Skin Care specializes in superficial to medium depth chemical peels and individualizes a treatment program based upon your skin type.

Chemical peels treat the following

  • Acne
  • Sun Damage
  • Fine Lines
  • Acne Scars
  • Freckles
  • Dull Skin

Chemical peel treatment can be used to lighten scars and remove debris on the face. It works by removing the top layers of skin, leaving fresh, new skin.

North Scottsdale’s chemical peels are characterized by light to moderate depth peels with minimal to no discomfort and minimal downtime. The deep peels of the past are an outdated procedure due to lengthy downtime and unpredictable results. Light to medium peels, however, are an excellent tool for rejuvenating the skin. They help restore your skin’s natural glow.

Chemical Peel FAQs

What is a chemical peel?

Alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs), betahydroxy acids (BHAs) or “lunch-hour” peels include glycolic, lactic, and fruit acid peels (AHA) or salicylic acid (BHA). These acids disrupt the bonds between dead sking cells. Once the skin is injured by the peel, the skin begins to naturally repair itself. The dead skin flakes away to reveal new, healthy skin.

Chemical peels improve the texture of sun-damaged skin, brighten your complexion, minimize pore size, balance skin pigmentation, and diminish some types of acne scars. They remove only the outer layers of the skin to smooth out fine wrinkles and/or rough, dry skin.

How is a chemical peel performed?

All chemical peels involve applying a chemical solution to remove the outer layers of skin so that
a smoother, more evenly pigmented, glowing layer of skin can appear. It helps stimulate the
production of new skin cells. Depending on the depth of the peel and client’s skin, they are often repeated every few weeks for 4-6 sessions to
achieve the desired results.

What can be expected during and after a chemical peel?

Typically, one can expect a small degree of slight stinging during the procedure. Afterwards, chemical peels generally cause flaking, redness, dryness and mild skin irritation. These side effects diminish over time. Once the body heals itself naturally, the smoother, younger and more vibrant skin will be visible.
